The whole reason I set out to learn about photography….

Here are some pictures from a recent photo shoot I did/tried to do with Elias.  First let me say, taking pictures of my own child is hard!  I have tons of pictures of him doing daily things, but I don’t take him out too often to do a shoot anymore.  We were in Grand Forks for the weekend with my parents and it was a beautiful evening, so I decided to take him out and he lasted about 7 minutes, but here is what I got and I think he is pretty sweet anyway!

This is the face he makes when he says, “You’ve GOT to be kidding me!”  I don’t even remember what I was joking with him about:)

For anyone who knows my bother Daniel, I think the picture on the left looks an awful lot like him (only the blonde version maybe:))!  When I told Elias that he looked like Daniel, he got the BIGGEST smile on his face, after all, Uncle Daniel is his idol!

Right about here the complaining began!

Still trying to negotiate leaving and going to get ice cream!  He is quite the little negotiator:)

Ending the session on a happy note!

We are having a family session this fall as well as some pictures of Elias by Megan Milbradt of Everyday Art Photography,  a fabulous photographer in the Bismark, ND area and I CANNOT wait!  I haven’t had professional pictures of Elias taken since he was a baby and we have never had a family photo.

These are precious! I want one of my handsome nephew. You get great shots in a matter of 7 minutes, Erin. Love them…

It is funny you posted this as I had all my studio stuff seet up yesterday so I threw the kids in and thought the same thing…it is so much harder to take of our own!! But I need to make myself take more cuz as you and I were talking, it seems so much harder to lug around the “big” camera. Making it my mission to take them once a week! Love your technalities on these…they are perfect!

Looking at these pictures…I’d say that was a successful 7 minutes! I love how his personality comes through in each picture! My favorite is the “you’ve got to be kidding me” scrunched-up nose one…so cute!
