Grendahl Family {Williston, ND Family Photographer}

This is the third year I have photographed this family and I look forward to it each year!  I think this  is my favorite session so far.

I love when parents ask to take a few photos of themselves.  These two just celebrated their 10 year anniversary!

Oh Isaac, isn’t he cute?!  If you could hear is sweet little voice you would think he was even cuter….if that is possible!

Macie is always so fun to photograph and is looking so grown up these days!

These two are always so cooperative for the sibling shots….they really seem to get along.

Mom With A Camera-The Workshop

Workshop Details:

Where:  Friday evening we will meet at Meg-a-latte and Saturday we will meet at the James Memorial Library.

Cost: $190.00 + tax

What you need:

– A DSLR camera  ( a digital camera that allows you to switch lenses).

Here’s a general list of popular DSLR camera’s:

Good: Canon Digital Rebel T3, Canon Digital Rebel T2i, Nikon D3000, Nikon D5100 ($500-$650 with kit lens)

Better: Canon Digital Rebel T3i, Canon 60D , Nikon D90 ($780-$980 body only)

Best: Canon Canon 7D, Canon 5D MarkII, Nikon D300, Nikon D7000, Nikon D700 ($1500-$2500 body only)

A kit lens is the lens that most likely came with your camera.  If you really want to step up your game, consider purchasing a 50mm 1.8 lens.  This is not required, but I think you will really love how your pictures look when using it and it is awesome to learn with!  Cost is just over $100 for this type of lens.   I am not a Nikon user, but I do know that there are two models of the f/1.4 lens. Autofocus is not supported with the f/1.4D on the D40, D60, D3000, and D5000 camera bodies. Two online equipment stores I like to recommend are B&H Photo, and Adorama.  I will have one extra Canon model available that participants may trial.

– Your camera manual.  If you can’t find your original one, you can most likely find one online.

– A notebook and pen.

What you get:

– A  workbook that will cover everything we go over so that you can continue to refine your skills at home.

– Refreshments Friday evening and lunch on Saturday.

– Drawings for prizes.

– A child model during the last hour of class to practice the new concepts you’ve learned.

What you will learn:

– Learn how to get your camera off ‘auto mode’ by understand the exposure triangle (ISO, Shutter speed, Aperture).

– Learn how to utilize natural light and photograph your children without using your flash

– Tips on getting natural and candid photographs of your children.

– Understanding composition and the difference it can make in your photos.

– At the end of the day on Saturday we will put your new knowledge to use with a little photo shoot!  If it is a nice day we will head outside too.

What this class will not cover:

– Advanced camera techniques

– Editing Techniques

Julia’s Cake Smash {Williston, ND Baby Photographer}

Julia turned one on July 21st and since she had a breakfast party she did not have a cake.  Elias was a little disappointed so last week we made her a cupcake cake and he helped me with the session.  She enjoyed the cake and Elias loved watching her.

Marcus and Natalia {Williston, ND Family Photographer}

This was a fun session for me!  I mainly photograph children and families and since I am not a wedding photographer, I very rarely do engagement sessions.  Marcus has been a friend of my brothers for as long as I can remember,  so when he asked if I would take their engagement photos I thought it would be fun to do something a little different…and it was.   We enjoyed a beautiful evening at the lake and got some great shots.

Congratulations Marcus and Natalia!
